students how to use elements of grammar (which I call "the Cores") to
create a style of writing. Whether you are a student or a teacher,

From the Introduction...
One summer, many years ago, as I was pondering ways to teach my
students how to write, I "invented" the "cores." In time, the system
became the basis of writing for all four years of our high school. That
a student be able to write in "cores" for the rest of her life is not
the purpose of the program. The core style is so encompassing, however,
that if a student can learn to handle this method of structuring
sentences, she can develop a unique style of her own because she will
know all the components of a sentence and how to arrange and rearrange
them.
